ALF NEWMAN MEMORIAL
QUICKPLAY CHESS TOURNAMENT

SATURDAY 14th JUNE 2008

St James’ Church House, Upgate, Louth
Organised by Louth Chess Club

RATE OF PLAY: Each player will have 25 minutes on the clock to complete all moves, ie maximum 50 minutes in total for each game.

PRIZES: Prizes will depend on the number of entries received, but will include a first prize of £50 minimum and a 100-and-under grading prize. All entry monies will be returned as prizes. Both cash prizes and trophies will be awarded. Early entry to the tournament is advised as the venue has limited capacity. It may not be possible to accept entries on the day.

ENTRY FEES: £8 per player (£4 for players under 16 on 31/8/07). THERE WILL BE A PENALTY FEE OF £2 FOR ENTRIES POSTMARKED AFTER 8th JUNE.

NB: In all matters concerning the tournament, the decision of the controller shall be final and binding on all players. The congress committee reserves the right to refuse any entry, although such applicants will be notified.
Coffee, squash & biscuits will be available free of charge. No other food will be provided

Please give the age of any players under 16 at the start of the current school year and the grading of any graded players. Please include your postal address, although entries will not be acknowledged unless a stamped, addressed envelope is enclosed.
